He found himself in a room. Who is Mi-na's younger brother? He was trapped in a room at an undisclosed location in a jumper that was not his with a woman who was falling apart right before his eyes. Their mouths twisted in a strange rictus. Higher and higher, above the alley, over the tops of tiled roofs, where I was gathered up by the wind and pushed up toward the night sky until everything below me disappeared and I was alone. Dr James, is similar to this, as he does not think about the outcome of the weapon he is creating, completely believes that he is doing the right thing for science, and refuses to listen to other peoples views. There are plot holes, characters with weird psychological motivations, time travel, and a smattering of odd psychic abilities which seems to be one of van Vogt's go-to sci-fi motifs.
