Full of description and feeling, your heart goes out to this little boy as he grows up and stands tall even after everything he has been forced to endure. Why, when his father left, didn't he take Dave with him? This trilogy is such a powerful and gut wrenching tale of a man who had one of the most darkest childhoods in the U.

A Child Called It, by Dave Pelzer, is an autobiography of a young boy who is starved, beaten, and tortured by his mother. While I can not say the abuse in Dave's book was true, or false. I couldn't help getting a sense that the latter two books, the final in the trilogy in particular, are laced with exaggerations. True, there are antiwar Christmas songs, but that is something different.
